Preferred Performance Produces Pure High Performance Results

Your morning alarm rings again. It feels like one startling tap of a snare drum as yet another day lights in a continuous, rapid beat of time. They relentlessly roll on waiting for no one like the waves of the ocean.

Before you can even think about hitting the gym and getting your day started out right, texts, emails, and phone calls wail their war-cry in competition for your time - right?

Maybe it isn’t as dramatic as that every day, but certainly the concern of measuring up in answer to demands is a daily event - especially in the current business climate that parades high performance as the only method of surviving, let alone thriving.

What’s more, all too often it feels like high performance training is in opposition to a voice inside that you perpetually questions the sustainability of such a regimen. You want to feel peace and harness the energy of motivating demands.

Surely there is a better way!

It takes a courageous entrepreneur to not only dream of their ideal, but also to apply their discipline effectively to achieve their unique preferred performance levels and lifestyle. This awareness creates more sustainable energy and allows you to fit your energy and resources to demands, and vice versa.

It puts you in charge of your performance based on the outcomes you wish to achieve and enables you to apply high performance when it is required. Ultimately, you discover how you can experience fulfillment more consistently.

Your “why” is the first stop on your journey to learning your preferred performance levels and the signs of when you are living them.

Taking your “Why” to a practical and applicable level produces accountability that enables you to achieve your sustainable, preferred performance and create fulfilling outcomes personally and professionally.

Your inner zone holds authentic truth about your “Why,” your abilities, and your sense of fulfillment.

Connect with it.

You have an emotional and intellectual feedback ability that I refer to as your “inner zone.” It requires that you be still and listen to the messages that your consideration of facts and feelings creates. Spending time in this sovereign space you discover that it holds authentic truth about your “Why,” your abilities, and your sense of fulfillment. It is always working behind the scenes creating intuitive and authentic responses, but it requires you paying attention to it in order for its messages to be most valuable.

Connect with it.

Results are never cultivated in a vacuum or produced as one singular event. As the dart point in the bullseye is a culmination of skill, instruments, and thrust, results are achieved by an orchestration of skills, tools, and real lives. Your role and wellbeing are critical, regardless of the part you play.

You are proving your knowledge and integrity as you progress to the outcome, and the fulfillment you feel is an integral part of the measurement of success. Ultimately, the measurement of your fulfillment is a tool that provides insight into your enduring ability to perform. This is because it gives insights into what your focus is, how powerful it is, and how connected you are to your purpose.

Many entrepreneurs find themselves running endlessly, the buzz of thoughts through physical and emotional drain increasing, the tension of desired goals propelling performance to levels beyond capacity. The company “Why” takes precedence over the personal “Why.”

Few employ a conscientious path of progression, planning, assessing, adjusting along the way, maintaining preferred performance levels. Preferred performance levels are generated from a unique and powerful blend of keeping your personal “Why” in place and aligning it with the company “Why.”

Understanding your performance is intricately connected to your “Why,” and is critical to surviving even on the best of days without being overloaded. If you feel you lack the ability to reign in the chaos to focus and achieve balance, the solution is simple.

Slow down and listen honestly.

Your ability to honestly hear your personal feedback from your emotions and physical and intellectual cues is directly related to your connection with self. Such a connection takes time, effort, and intentional awareness, and the practice becomes satisfying in and of itself through consistency.

Initially, ease into this space with an uninterrupted hour. Take the time to simply hear what your thoughts and feelings are telling you about your personal, emotional, intellectual wellness. Consider how you spend your time. What occupies your thoughts? Are you feeling fulfilled?

Other clues of how you are performing and your level of effectiveness are found in your influence on others, the company climate, and your interactions. They are found in the details of outcomes, both the tangible and intangible results of events.

Turn this awareness into a mindset.

After you have initially connected with yourself there can be a tendency to want to avoid this space. Compassion for yourself and gratitude for who you are and what you have are keys that facilitate your continued and deepening connection.

  • Compassion and gratitude can be engaged by replacing “mistakes” or “failures” with “learning.”

  • Allow yourself space to grow by looking for the good and the potential in any less appealing points you have discovered.

  • Engage with the abilities you have and people you enjoy and value. Feel and express gratitude more over time.

  • Schedule time regularly to assess your performance.

To maximize your efforts to connect with yourself, write in a journal or voice record your assessment. Write down or articulate what feels out of control, frustrating, what is working, what your results are telling you. Describe what is rewarding, and what is draining.

This self-awareness tool enables you to draw knowledge from your experience. This knowledge primes you for greater accountability. Together, knowledge and accountability produces the desire and ability to match demands and energy levels with your “Why,” and you perform at preferred levels.

The “new normal” for this caliber of self:

The awareness you maintain between your performance and your inner zone produces a feedback loop that helps you monitor your performance and your progress toward goals - truly fulfilling and impactful results - in real time.

So, make time to review your outcomes and your inner feedback. Learn what they tell you about your performance levels and your role in the journey to your desired results, personally and professionally. Live what you imagine!
