When it’s Not Your Market
The real estate market experiences “seasons,” created by elements such as the economy, or personal life changes. Each market we experience in real estate engages a different buyer, so most seasons continue to host a “healthy” market, even if it doesn’t quite appeal to you or fit your needs at the time.
What do you do if it is not your season to make real estate moves?
I suggest you do 2 things:
1 - Educating yourself
2 - Tend your savings and investment accounts
Both of these activities may include meeting regularly (annually or biannually) with:
- A mortgage lender, a credit union loan officer, and a lending officer from a bank
- Your Realtor
- Your financial advisor
Revising your knowledge and understanding of your financial condition, the market, and your next steps helps you set goals for your budget, work, and opportunities. It also enables you to be ready when you need to interact with the real estate market.
